- The post I wrote about change – HERE
Change is hard – we are set in our ways, doing things the way we have always done them and sticking to what we know. It’s our minds way, the ego, of keeping us safe, and that’s its job, to keep us safe. Even if you are not entirely happy, no problem, your ‘ego’ knows it’s safe because that is what you have been doing and nothing has finished you off yet. Therefore, let’s keep doing what we are doing.
When I have done surveys or looked at the intake forms, you are all coming to yoga for your health, for the benefits you have heard that yoga can bring.
And yoga does bring benefits – the longer you do yoga, the more you come to class, the more you will notice the benefits and that certain something that a yoga practice brings.
Yoga works from the outside in. The physical body first, the dense layer of our 5 layers of being, working through the layers, each, in turn, bringing its own benefits, experience and realizations. Each an exploration of you and how you work.
But Human beings are contrary and complex creatures. If change happens too fast it feels uncomfortable, but if it happens too slowly, it doesn’t feel like it’s working and we lose faith in it.
Same with yoga classes.
If you push and go hell for leather, you ache and it feels so challenging, if you dilly dally and do a class every now and then, it feels like nothing really changes, maybe becomes boring and you begin to wonder if it really does any good.
Here’s what I know. Yoga can totally change your life and how you feel about yourself, your levels of fittness and your overall health and wellbeing.
If you don’t feel that, something is wrong.
You know I teach my own classes and teach at the Lifehouse spa.
At the Lifehouse, the membership is about £90 per month. If you have paid £90 a month, and some of you reading this have, then you turn up to get your monies worth! You value what you pay for and use the facilities and in return, all those I see regularly at the Lifehouse doing more than 3 classes a week – and some many more than that – have got terrific results and can do amazing things they never thought their bodies would do and experience heightened levels of wellbeing.
If you pay for a drop-in class and come when you feel like it, you don’t get the results. No change or not enough change happens, and you may stop coming as it becomes less of a priority.
I want people to turn up and get the benefits yoga has to bring, so I have created a tighter pricing container so that you feel more engaged and are more likely to turn up. You know that if you have paid for your class, you are more likely to come, even if it’s cold, raining and windy outside!
I want big things for you. I want you to feel Younger, fitter and calmer, and I want you to feel potential and possibilities in your life whatever your age, and especially if you are over 40, 50, 60 or beyond.
As Patanjali the great yoga sage said – “Do your practice and all is coming”.
So, I’ve got to get you on your mat!
I have exciting plans ahead in the coming months that I hope will benefit those of you that want the same as me; to feel younger, fitter and calmer, no matter what your age.
I see no point, no joy or purpose in growing older, living longer as we are predicted to do, but living a longer life of sickness and lack of quality of life.
I want to step up in a bigger way and be more in service to you and your health and wellbeing.
Will you step up to your mat and experience your own health and wellbeing potential?
