To me it is second nature to eat healthily; I have done it for so long that it’s easy.
(Really…I was a weird teenager, spending my savings on nutrition & diet books when my friends were up to …teenage things!)
For a long time I presumed everyone knew what I knew… not so much it seems…and I think that is down to one thing – confusion.
Here’s the problem; every time you pick up a magazine or newspaper you can read new advice about what is or isn’t ‘good’ for you. It’s just so confusing and does nothing to really help you understand what you should do to get a level of health that results in real change and has you noticing how good it is possible to feel.
It is really easy to slip into bad habits and talk yourself into continuing what you are doing because nothing is clear and simple to you, which results in decision fatigue – we just don’t have the brain power and will to keep sifting thorough all that STUFF.
We are faced with all the choices that big food business would rather we take because they have spent lots of product research and advertising dollars to develop it.
Even the most seemingly healthy choices are not always what they pretend to be when they are packaged and advertised with degree-level biz brains directing the show.
