Off with your head!
You know what the real problem is? … It’s your thoughts!
As Byron Katie says, “There’s nothing more dangerous than a thought!”
I’m not immune from my thoughts either, and can easily find them banging about my head just like a championship squash ball.
The gift of yoga is to increase your awareness. Without it, we are stumbling blind along our path wondering why we are in a rut and wondering why we keep feeling the same (disempowering) thoughts or doing the same things, reacting in predictable ways to the predictable situation we find ourself in.
The cure for this is to ‘Cut off your head!’
Not literally of course, but most definitely metaphorically.
Whatever you do, your gender, your stage in life, or your personal circumstances, you must do this to be healthy. To have that elusive ‘balance’ that we are all told to strive for.
(That’s just a thought too, FYI!)
Yep, no such thing as balance really, the true skill is awareness of what is going on for ourselves and to keep course correcting.
It goes like this …
You have a thought, created by your beliefs, that sets up an emotional reaction, that creates a physical reaction, that causes a thought …..
Just so much wasted physical and mental energy !
So, back to cutting off your head …
Like I said, the gift of yoga is to bring awareness … and sometimes we need to focus specifically on that alone. To be aware enough to Course Correct!
Stillness in the mind eventually causes stillness in the body, and stillness in the body eventually causes stillness in the mind.
I have some special tools for that!
I am offering another, Relax, Restore, Renew! mini retreat.
An afternoon of
